You Shriek are Raziel Panic, John O'Leary, and Skot Kremen. Their savvy synthpop releases combine elements of gothic, industrial, and intelligent electronic dance music, invoking such influences as Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and Einsturzende Neubauten. The band was founded originally in the early 1990's and quickly gained a Boston following, frequenting such venues as ManRay and the Rathskellar. A whimsical cover of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" (Bauhaus) featured on a rare vinyl compilation brought them an underground club hit. After a long hiatus to write, record, and produce a full length disc (among other projects), You Shriek have re-emerged on the New England live scene as an a-list underground act. You Shriek's current release, "Unreal Cities", takes the listener through a broad range of emotion and musical versatility. By combining poetic melodies with exquisitely orchestrated organic and electronic instruments and unique samples, You Shriek define a new movement in progressive music.
